The Holy Spirit is our most reliable companion through life’s journey. If we follow His leading, He can control our thoughts, attitudes, words, actions, and direct our steps through complicated life’s paths, keeping us safe from sin and all forms of defeat. The power to grow in Christ, live for Him daily, do His work, and have the best year ever resides only in the Holy Spirit.
Speaking to His disciples, and by extension, us, Jesus promised the Helper, the Holy Spirit. If we walk by Him, the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. To walk by the Spirit is to live moment by moment in alignment with His guidance, relying on His strength rather than our own. The Spirit does not overpower us against our will; rather, He partners with us, shaping our desires and enabling us to act in accordance with God’s will. God doesn’t want us to do life, striving in our own strength; He wants us to surrender to the Holy Spirit. When we surrender to God’s Spirit, the Holy Spirit works in us and transforms us to be MORE LIKE JESUS. And we are certain to have the best year ever when we have conformed to the image of Christ.

This year, desire, more than anything else, to walk in the Holy Spirit. Because if the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He will quicken all aspects of your life and give you a fulfilling year.
